Supporting Energy Resilience: Solarport Launches Partnership with RePower Ukraine

For communities and essential services, energy resilience is about more than keeping the lights on. It means having access to dependable power when it’s needed most.

That’s why we’re excited to announce our new partnership with RePower Ukraine.

RePower Ukraine is a charitable organisation established in 2022 by a group of Ukrainian renewable energy professionals. Working alongside local communities in some of the regions most affected by the war, its mission is to provide immediate relief while building longer-term energy resilience through solar power, energy storage and energy-efficient technologies.

We’re launching this partnership on World Humanitarian Day, a global day recognised by the United Nations to honour humanitarian workers and the communities they support around the world.
It is a moment to reflect on the importance of coordinated action in times of crisis, and to recognise the people and organisations working on the ground to deliver practical help where it is needed most.

For us, it is also a reminder of why partnerships like this matter, bringing together expertise, resources and commitment to support resilience in challenging conditions.

Building Resilience Through Renewable Energy

To date, RePower Ukraine has installed a range of Solar PV and battery projects supporting 11 hospitals and two water supply facilities. These systems help essential services become more resilient to electricity grid disruptions and provide greater energy independence for the future.

This organisation’s work goes beyond installing renewable energy infrastructure. It has also developed reskilling programmes for Ukrainian veterans, providing training in the design and installation of photovoltaic systems and supporting participants as they move into employment within the renewable energy sector.

Solarport’s Support

As part of our partnership, Solarport has committed to making a charitable donation to RePower Ukraine.

Rather than being allocated to one specific project, the funding is intended to support RePower Ukraine’s core charitable activities and its wider work strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure and expanding access to renewable energy solutions.

And our support doesn’t stop there either. Through Solarport’s Volunteering Time Off Programme, members of our team will have opportunities to contribute their professional expertise to support RePower Ukraine’s work. Our Marketing and Legal teams are already exploring how their skills and experience can provide practical support to the organisation as the partnership develops.

This partnership is just the beginning.

We look forward to working closely with the RePower Ukraine team, sharing expertise across our organisations and seeing how their work continues to support communities across Ukraine.
